A mindfulness training can be what makes the difference, both for the person and for the Organizations, between surviving and thriving.

INTRO

It’s no longer possible to carry out duties and think that it’s enough, the work world has become so complex and fluid that it is essential to acquire the tools to be able to manage it effectively and as protagonists.

Likewise, every leader needs to help people work by leveraging their authentic motivations and to ensure that work is a springboard for individual happiness.

Valuable people are no longer willing to work and not be happy about it.

WHY INTRODUCE MINDFULNESS AT WORK?

Mindfulness skills allow people to live with greater satisfaction and to realize their potential. Working life is certainly one of the fundamental aspects in which it is essential to apply these skills to create aware, creative, resilient and collaborative work environments.

  • It means giving shape to one's work in order to express one's potential and thus increase both personal satisfaction and productivity, to the advantage of both the individual and the company. The Job Crafting protocol - of which I am a qualified counselor - was developed by the Sapienza University of Rome and Modus Maris Srl and is supported by a digital platform for exercises and planning which will be made available of all participants. Job Crafing is a creative and stimulating journey, which leverages the satisfaction that each of us feels when we give our best.

  • It consists of two complementary qualities: focus and awareness.

    · Focus means knowing how to manage attention by directing it to a task and maintaining it for long periods.

    · Awareness is instead the far-reaching ability to choose what to pay attention to and also our actions in a constructive direction. That is, we do not allow ourselves to be led away by distractions, unwanted thoughts, or by the impulses of the moment.

The Mindful Work path gives the tools for being Mindful by allowing the neuronal change necessary to work with satisfaction and effectiveness.

  • Researches show that while 77% of today's leaders believe they are a valuable role model, only 18% of employees truly see them as such ( McKinsey & Company, 2016). What is missing? Definitely awareness and the ability to inspire and motivate others.

  • Each of us needs a motivation, otherwise we don't "move" forward. We have two types of motivation:

    · Extrinsic motivation, that is external rewards, e.g. money, bonuses. These motivations only work in the short term and soon these rewards are taken for granted;

    · Intrinsic motivation, which comes from satisfying something personal and profound, something important and valuable to everyone (and it's different for everyone). This motivation sustains us over time and continues to motivate our actions and make us productive. We can give our best only by leveraging our intrinsic and profound motivations. An organization of value is such when it recognizes the profound values and intrinsic motivations of each individual, and not only respects them but values them.

  • Whatever our job position, relationships are still a fundamental aspect of our effectiveness, for our success and our well-being. We can't accomplish anything remarkable by ourselves, so collaborating and interacting with other people in a constructive and pleasant way is essential. Even more if we hold positions of responsibility.

  • Managing stress means knowing how to maintain that delicate balance in which difficulties and challenges are perceived and managed not as threats but as opportunities for growth. This ability is necessary because when our body feels a threat, it enters into a state of alarm that is tiring, which does not allow thought - and consequently behavior - to be clear nor creative. Under stress, our only concern is survival: our actions become automatic, thoughts become superficial, relationships are based on distrust or aggression. However, our goal is certainly not to survive, but to thrive even in difficulties.

GOALS AND TOOLS

· To introduce Mindfulness in the workplace in a pleasant and practical way and always based on scientific evidence, with programs that can be adapted to the needs of different individuals and teams, planning ad hoc courses and involving all company levels.

· Explore with each person of the team what motivates them, what helps them to work and feel satisfied, what allows them to manage stress constructively and finally what helps them to understand others and interact constructively.

· Activate the actions and processes that allow you to work with pleasure and effectiveness.

Mindfulness has been my passion since I was a girl and since 2009 it has become my job. Until 2009, however, I worked in private companies for more than 10 years. So I know what it means, I know its dynamics, pitfalls and strengths. Thanks to my experience, making mindfulness known in organizations is now what excites me the most, what I feel I can make a difference in.

We can design ad hoc paths together, taking into account the availability of the Organization and the characteristics and availability of the participants.

The possibilities: residential stays; weekly sessions in company/via Zoom/blended; a mix of individual and team meetings; entirely individual courses.

The advantages of face-to-face delivery are the enrichment created by being together in the same place for several consecutive hours. Being in presence, the communication is richer, the bonds are deeper. The advantages of online delivery are being able to spread the training over a longer period, with lower costs, being able to practice for several weeks and accompanying the change over time.

For residential courses, the structure that I normally propose is La Chiara di Prumiano in Barberino Val d'Elsa - Sena, Italy (www.prumiano.it), which guarantees the comfort and peace necessary to work.

In case of different needs, I am available to evaluate other possibilities.
